Pet Disaster Preparedness

Most disaster shelters will not accept pets because of health and safety regulations, so it is imperative that you have determined where you will take your pets.

• Contact your veterinarian.

• Contact hotels and motels to find out if they are “pet friendly”.

• Ask friends and relatives outside your immediate area if they would be willing to take in your pet.

• Note: Hotels, motels, and boarding facilities will need written proof of current vaccinations for your animal. QCAWC offers a low cost vaccination clinic every Wednesday & Friday starting at 1:30 pm and the first Saturday of every month starting at 10:00 am. Your pet must be current on vaccinations.
